I always say to my dance students here in Ithaca, New York , " That Miami is so far South is that it is both Latin and Kosher at the same time. " To a very large extent, this quip is only a tiny part of several remarkable & complex additional surrounding cities along with an International array of diverse cultures which exist in Dade County, Florida. A very remarkable combination of cultures and societies, all multi - language at the same time. indeed! So complex, that in the 60s several Miamis decided to go and establish similar cultural colonies in Naples, Florida ( a real insider favorite Son view ).
